FAQ
What is TouchEdit?
TouchEdit is a frame-based editing system for the iPad. To perform edits, users have two monitors - a source and a record monitor - controlled by two corresponding filmstrips. Users control the filmstrips by running their fingers back and forth across them, using the same finger-touch technology iPad users are already comfortable with. TouchEdit’s timeline based editor also enables users to interact directly with the video and eight channels of audio.
What media formats does TouchEdit support?
TouchEdit utilizes the same H.264 and MPEG-4 media that the iPad currently supports. TouchEdit enables the user to edit directly with footage shot on the IPad or imported from other sources.
Can I export my edited videos?
Yes, you can export your videos directly to iTunes or Photo Library.
Can I undo mistakes I make while editing?
TouchEdit features an “undo” button that allows for undoing multiple actions while editing as well as a “redo” button.
Can I mark in and out points?
Editors can mark in and out points using the “Grease Pencil” feature, allowing for classical “three point editing.”
How do I get media into TouchEdit?
Standard videos (such as those shot with the iPad) and audio can be directly imported from your iPad's photo, and music libraries. For timecoded formats, users can import from iTunes File Sharing or from cloud services such as Dropbox.
Can I create multiple projects?
TouchEdit supports the creation of multiple projects.
